Many Leeds United fans have been discussing the latest tweet that journalist Graham Smyth recently relayed on social media.
Smyth recently quote-tweeted a post from LUFCDATA. The original tweet from LUFCDATA concerned Luke Ayling and said that the defender has the best progressive passing distance in the Premier League this season (1811 yards).
He has completed more take-ons than any other defender in the division as well (nine). Only Andy Robertson has taken more touches than him and Ayling has also attempted more tackles than anyone else in the Premier League (19).
Smyth quote-tweeted this post, relaying a quote from the defender. This tweet from the journalist caught the attention of many Leeds fans and they made their admiration very clear for the 29-year-old.
Not gonna lie, when Bielsa first came I was frustrated with Luke, he gave the ball away a lot. Now it’s clear he was adjusting to the system, and he’s absolute class. Always feel safe when he’s on the ball (same as Dallas)

Do you think Ayling can play for England in the future?
Yes
No
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone slot into the prem so easily, and then be a stand out performer at the same time as @lukeayling_8 . England cap seriously incoming. He’s at the very top of his game ??

Ayling isn’t scared of taking on anyone. This guy is accurate at passing, fast and hard

Ayling has made three Premier League appearances this season and has picked up a rating of 7.17 so far. He has been the club’s fifth-best performer in the campaign as well – even though he is yet to score or assist even once.
Some other Leeds fans also talked about Ayling and had a lot of positive words to say about him.
He’s quality, just shows what happens when a world class manager has confidence in you.

The words of a man who has got there the hard way.
Also in a way that will mean his name will be remembered for years after he finishes playing at Leeds or in general.

Lee Johnson was right, Ayling isn’t Championship standard. He’s Premier League standard.

The comments of Leeds United fans show that they really like Ayling for the efforts that he puts in for the Elland Road-based club.
Even in the Championship last season, he made 37 appearances in the league and directly contributed to eight goals. He racked up a pretty good rating of 7.26 as well (as per Whoscored).
So, clearly, he’s been a very important figure for the club in recent times and perhaps, he deserves all the praise that the Leeds fans are giving him.
