To get things started a rather easy one. Who scored Newcastle's first league goal of the season?

Musgrove spent most of the episode talking about transfers and spent some time on the Toon’s move for Jamal Lewis.

It was reported on Saturday that Newcastle and Norwich City had agreed a fee for the Northern Ireland international, there were conflicting reports which suggested that a fee hadn’t been agreed, though a deal was close.

David Ornstein then confirmed on Sunday evening that Newcastle and the Canaries had indeed agreed a fee for Lewis.

Speaking before that announcement, Musgrove provided his view on Newcastle signing the Norwich left-back.

It seems as if Musgrove believes that Lewis could be a good signing for the Toon, and in his view, he was Norwich’s best player last season.

He said: “He was wanted by Liverpool, so it’s a huge coup and could solve that left-back crisis that’s been going on for far too long – so Jamal Lewis, a young player who was probably Norwich’s standout player in a very difficult season last campaign.

“So, that would be a big, big boost to Newcastle United.”

Do you think Lewis will be a good signing for Newcastle?

TIF Thoughts…

Lewis is expected on Tyneside on Tuesday to complete his move.

He will follow Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser in making the move to St. James’ Park this week.

Lewis played 28 top-flight games last season, scoring one goal and earning an average rating of 6.46/10 (as per WhoScored).

This put him in joint-15th place in the Canaries’ squad, so not the standout as Musgrove claims, based on his ratings last term.

However, Liverpool were previously in for the 22-year-old, only for the Reds to have a bid rejected by Norwich, so this could be considered quite the coup by the Toon if they pull it off.
