Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that the club are interested in Freiburg centre-back Robin Koch as an alternative signing to Ben White.

According to reports by The Telegraph, Marcelo Bielsa’s side ‘will turn their attention’ to 24-year-old Koch ‘when hopes of landing Ben White are over’.

Starting with an easy one how many points did Leeds end the season with?

It is said that White is the ‘number one target’ of Leeds this summer, however, a £30 million deal with Brighton and Hove Albion is ‘far from straightforward’, made more complicated by the fact that the south coast side are listening to offers for Shane Duffy, which is ‘seen as a blow to hopes of White moving this summer’.

After these reports of interest in Koch were relayed on Twitter by LUFCMOT, fans of the club flocked to have their say on the matter, with many calling for the club to do all they can to sign the player.

Koch, who can operate from central defence or central defensive midfield, made 32 Bundesliga appearances last season, scoring one goal and averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.73/10 – ranking him as the club’s 13th-best performer.

The 24-year-old, who is valued at £15.3 million, had previously been a target of Norwich City, before being capped by the German national team, which ended the Canaries’ pursuit of the defender due to a higher level of clubs being interested in his services.

Would you be happy for Leeds to sign Koch instead of White this summer?

It would now appear that Leeds view the defender as a good addition to their first-team squad, and many more fans agree he would be a good signing for the Whites.

So, it would seem as if a great deal of Leeds fans would indeed like the club to make a move for Koch this summer, although, it appears that some would want Koch to play alongside White at Leeds, rather than instead of the Brighton centre-back.
