Many Celtic fans have been discussing the latest news involving Shane Duffy that emerged on social media.
It was recently reported by the Daily Mail that Duffy is ‘keen’ to move to Parkhead this summer, but his current club, Brighton and Hove Albion will demand a loan fee of £2 million to let the defender seal a Celtic move.
This update involving the Republic of Ireland defender was relayed on Twitter by CelticBible and it grabbed the attention of many Celtic fans. Some of them believe that this could prove to be a good deal for the Hoops.
There was always gonna be a loan fee since they were missing out on 8/9/10m had he went to a PL side, think it’s well worth it, pls get this done @CelticFC

Would you like Duffy at Celtic?
Yes, I'd like that
No, he's not good enough
If Brighton have put that price on the table it means they must be up for it and the player also wants it to happen. Mon Pete make it happen

The Daily Mail had previously talked about Celtic’s interest in signing Duffy. They had reported that the defender has talked to Neil Lennon about a potential one-year loan move to Parkhead. Burnley, West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United have also been linked with a move for the defender.
Celtic fans continued to reply to this tweet to discuss the news about Duffy.

Duffy is currently valued at £8.55m and he made 21 appearances in all competitions for the club in the 2019/20 season (as per Transfermarkt).
In the 2018/19 Premier League season, he picked up a WhoScored rating of 7.11 for the campaign and he racked up a rating of 6.71 in the 2019/20 season (as per WhoScored).
It shows that the 28-year-old is still a decent option and perhaps signing him will not be a bad idea for Celtic.
