Many Leeds United fans have been responding to a tweet from Brighton and Hove Albion centre-back Ben White which shares another post that includes highlights of the defender from his time on loan at Leeds last season.

White played an important role for Leeds during their Championship-winning 2019/20 campaign, as he played every minute of their 46 games in England’s second tier during his loan spell at the Yorkshire-based club last term.

Leeds have reportedly been trying to sign the 22-year-old defender on a permanent deal, with The Athletic’s Phil Hay reporting that the club have unsuccessfully offered as much as ‘an up-front figure’ of £22m already this summer.

After he shared some highlights of his time at Elland Road via a tweet, plenty of Leeds United supporters replied to the defender’s post. Many of the Leeds fans who replied to his tweet called for him to return to the Yorkshire-based club.

One fan even questioned whether the fact that he shared a video of his time at Leeds meant that it could be a hint he could yet return to the club.

Starting with an easy one how many points did Leeds end the season with?

The impact that the 22-year-old centre-back had during his loan spell is evident by the fact that he was named as Leeds United’s Young Player of the Year for the 2019/20 campaign, and with that in mind, it’s not too surprising that plenty of Leeds supporters replied to the defender’s latest post to try and convince him to leave Brighton and return to Elland Road.

Do you expect Ben White to be a Leeds player next season?

It’s clear that many Leeds fans would like to see White playing for the club in the Premier League next term, however, as Brighton are set to compete with Leeds in England’s top flight next season, that might make it difficult for the Yorkshire-based club to bring the defender back to Elland Road, as Brighton may not want to allow him to join a direct league rival, despite these Leeds fans’ wishes and the club’s attempts to sign the player.
