Celtic fans on Twitter have been discussing a potential Parkhead departure for Hoops defender Kristoffer Ajer.
This comes after Celtic news Twitter account @aboutceltic shared a post on their page suggesting that Ajer will not be a Celtic player for much longer in response to his performance in Celtic’s 2-1 defeat to Ferencvarosi TC in the Champions League in midweek.
Back in June, it was reported by The Athletic from one of their sources that Ajer’s ‘heart is set on leaving’ the Scottish club and allegedly made it clear to the club and his teammates that he doesn’t intend to sign a new contract.
Now that this Celtic news Twitter account has shared this post about Ajer on their page, this gathered a lot of replies from Celtic fans who were not shy in airing their thoughts on the defender.
Here’s a sample of Celtic fans responding to the post:

I’d sell him. He’s a DCM not a CB. Sell him to fund a proper CB and a decent LB. Taylor is murder at that level. We’re a good team going forward but our defence is shocking and has been for years.

Ajer absolutely blew it last night. Absolutely criminal defending for that first goal. He’s got to go. He clearly doesn’t care.

The 22-year-old signed for Celtic back in 2016 for a fee of £540k from Norwegian side IK Start. Overall, the defender has made a total of 133 appearances for the Hoops in which he has managed to score five goals and provide three assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).
Hasn’t looked interested for weeks

Now that this Celtic page has suggested Ajer could be packing his bags soon, this sparked a huge reaction on Twitter with many Hoops fans sharing their thoughts on the matter.
I wont be too bothered, he wants to go, fair enough.

Would you be bothered if Ajer left Celtic this summer?
Yes, he'd be a miss
No, he can leave
He wont be a loss, he is not progressing, not a CB in a million years, Bitton is a better option, we look far more composed

It appears that these Celtic fans would not be too bothered if Ajer were to leave the club this summer.
