Many Celtic fans have been talking about the latest news involving Kieran Tierney that caught their attention on social media recently.
Tierney was a guest on the latest episode of Open Goal’s Keeping the Ball on the Ground podcast (via The Scottish Sun) and the Arsenal man talked about how his Celtic stint ended last summer. The defender said that the end of his time at the club was ‘sad’.
He also revealed that weeks before Arsenal had made their bid for him, people said that he is ‘terrible’ if he leaves and that he was ‘never a Celtic fan’.
He also said that when he had come back home after signing for the Gunners, ‘Judas’ was sprayed on the walls. He revealed that when he had announced his move on Twitter, he had received ‘thousands of tweets, threats and all sorts’.
When asked if he has been to Celtic Park after his move to Arsenal, Tierney replied: “No, I’m scared!”
A tweet about this was relayed by The Scottish Sun’s Twitter account. It caught the attention of many Celtic fans, who weren’t happy.
@kierantierney1 this is disgusting by any so called celtic fan. You are a Legend at OUR club and I hope you come back to celebrate 10 if we get it.THE only defence I could have for these clowns is that you were such a great player for us and we knew you gave 100% for the jersey.

Tierney joined Arsenal in the summer of 2019 for a fee of £25 million. In his very first season at the Emirates Stadium, Tierney has already won the FA Cup under Mikel Arteta.
Some other Celtic fans weren’t happy with how Tierney was treated towards the end of his Parkhead tenure.
He was a tremendous player for Celtic. Grew up supporting the club. Did what he could, and needed to play in a higher quality league. Being treated in this way is disgraceful. https://t.co/8DxvX7UzYn

Tierney came through the ranks at Parkhead and during his time with the club’s senior team, the defender made 170 appearances in all competitions and racked up 37 assists for the Hoops. He won as many as five Premiership titles with the club and also won three Scottish Cups and three Scottish League Cups.
This shows how important a player Tierney was to the club and he deserves respect for his contributions to Celtic. So, in our opinion, instead of disrespecting him, fans should appreciate what Tierney did for their club.
