Many Celtic fans have been discussing the latest news update involving Ivan Toney that recently emerged on social media.
It has recently been reported that Peterborough have now accepted an offer from Brentford for Toney. The offer made by Brentford is worth £10million (as per TalkSPORT).
Celtic were linked with a move for Toney and even had a bid rejected for the striker, as the Hoops had offered £5million for the Englishman (as per the Daily Record).
The news about the Posh accepting a bid from Brentford caught the attention of many Celtic fans and they made their opinion very clear about the update.
Better not even looking down there for players. The prices are so inflated your paying decent fees for mediocre players. Should concentrate on the Scandinavian and Balkan leagues.

Are you glad that Celtic won't sign Toney?
Yes, I'm glad
No, we should sign him
The Tonev situation shows why it’s pointless for Celtic to shop in the English market. Player valuations are insane down there so teams very rarely get value for money. https://t.co/Vf7l4VMea7

Celtic have already signed a striker in Albian Ajeti from West Ham United. It was initially reported that a loan deal was agreed with the Hammers, but the Swiss striker has now joined Celtic on a permanent basis for a fee of £4.5 million.
Some other Celtic fans also talked about the news involving Toney and the fact that the Hoops are missing out on the striker. They also seemed glad that they aren’t signing the striker for a £10million fee.
Was always put of our price range, also hasn’t done it at a decent level, if we really wanted him we could have pushed the boat out.
But for me it would have been too risky?

English players are over priced and over hyped I think we have dodged a bullet tbh we are better looking at the French, Swiss Belgian and Dutch leagues as we get much better quality for our cash https://t.co/ZaDY2DUKxR

Toney was in impressive form for Peterborough in the 2019/20 season. He found the back of the net 26 times in all competitions. In League One, he scored 24 goals and racked up six assists for the Posh. This shows how capable a player Toney can be (as per Transfermarkt).
Now that Celtic have already signed Ajeti though, Hoops fans should focus on what they have. Toney’s goalscoring record shows that he is a very good player, but Celtic fans can hope that Ajeti comes up with important performances in the 2020/21 campaign.
