A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from NUFC 360, which includes a link to an article by The Daily Telegraph.
In this piece, it is claimed that the Bellagraph Nova Group, which intends to buy Newcastle United, has identified Cristiano Ronaldo as a transfer target should its bid to remove Mike Ashley be successful.
The group has submitted an offer of £280m that Ashley has already dismissed, but talks over a potential takeover remain ongoing between the relevant parties.
It is thought that Ashley has not had direct discussions with them – and won’t do so until his lawyers tell him that the group are serious.
The BN Group has submitted documentation that includes proof of funds, and has now claimed that they want to sign Ronaldo.
This has drawn a reaction from these Toon fans, who are baffled by these claims.
Do you believe this?
No, It is absolute rubbish
Yes, we could get him
I’ve heard some pearlers in my lifetime but this one is up there with the best of them mind ??? @dan_stead @mattystead1994 @markgray85

Newcastle fans are just recovering from the failed takeover by Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium, which left them confused and gutted.
Now, not even three weeks after that bid was withdrawn, there appears to be another offer on the table, and this group has made a lot of noise, which suggests to these Toon fans that this is not a serious bid – particularly after these latest claims.
Want to buy Ronaldo, they want to invest hundreds of millions into the local community but are 20m off Ashley’s valuation? next caller, please

Too much noise from this group. Me thinks they are just trying to get their name out there, nothing more.
This has no legs. The photos with Obama, the name dropping of old players, claiming they will buy the most expensive player in the world (wages). Not gonna happen

its too much in the public domain…not serious…

The BN Group’s interest emerged over the weekend, and now it has widely spread details of their plans to various journalists, although its apparent bid is £20m short of the asking price, so there are reasons to have doubts with this one.
However, those involved insist that they are serious, so we will have to see if this bid goes any further or if it just disappears.
