The Express and Star journalist Nathan Judah has been discussing what would happen if a transfer offer arrived for Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore.

In recent months, the Spanish attacker has been linked with a host of big-name clubs from across Europe.

According to a report by ESPN last month, Manchester City, Juventus and Barcelona are just some of the clubs which are eyeing a swoop for the attacker.

So, in the latest episode of the E&S Wolves Podcast, Judah discussed what the Old Gold would do if a sizeable transfer offer arrived for Traore.

To kick-off this quiz on Nuno Espirito Santo on the hard side, which club was his first game on the touchline at Molineux against?

He said: “Traore’s the other one that, if a big bid comes in, they’re going to have to look at it and they’re going to have to look at a lot of different aspects of Adama.

“You know, his confidence, the good Adama, the bad Adama, the injured Adama and weigh up what kind of fee that merits. Also, whether they can replace him or not.

“I still believe that if a huge bid came in for any player, then I think Adama would probably be the one that they would accept but they would have to have a ready-made replacement ready for him.

“We’ve spoken about the lad from Newcastle [Allan Saint-Maximin] and a couple of others. It is a position that can be replaced, but just be careful, because Traore, up to the restart, was a lot of people’s player of the season.

“[He’s got] an incredible amount of assists, he’s added goals, he’s still got room for improvement, he’s not the finished article. He’s such a unique person in his pace, in his physique, in his directness, let’s not write someone off just because they’ve had one or two bad games.”

TIF Thoughts…

Seemingly, Judah believes that Wolves would sell Traore if a big offer arrived for him, however, he believes that the Old Gold should be “careful” because the Spaniard is “unique”.

If a £50m offer arrived for Adama Traore this summer, would you want it accepted?

No, that's not enough for him

Yes, would be a good deal

Certainly, the 24-year-old attacker was in stellar form during the 2019/20 Premier League season as he was Wolves’ best-performing player with a 7.49/10 average rating (per WhoScored).

So, finding that “ready-made replacement” which the journalist spoke of may be easier said than done.
