Speaking recently on The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee gave a figure of how much it would cost for a side to purchase West Ham midfielder, Declan Rice, this summer.

Since making his West Ham debut under Slaven Bilic back in 2017, Declan Rice has enjoyed quite a remarkable rise.

To kick-off this quiz on David Moyes on the hard side, which club was his first game on the touchline at the London Stadium against?

Not only is he now a stalwart of the West Ham starting XI, starting every Premier League game last season, he also has already made 109 appearances for the club, scoring three goals and providing four assists, as well as featuring seven times for England.

As a result of these achievements, there has been considerable interest in the 21-year-old, with Chelsea rumoured to have bid £50 million for the midfielder, although these reports were laughed off by the Hammers.

And, speaking on The West Ham Way Podcast, @ExWHUemployee stated how much he believed the club would allow the midfielder to leave the club for this summer.

He said: “There has categorically been no bid for Declan Rice. Unless Chelsea come in with a substantial offer – and we’re talking north of £70 million, I would say, possibly even more – then he will be a West Ham player next year.

“Manchester United are interested as well, but he is not going to force a move. He is a West Ham player for now, and that is what people need to hold on to. I will tell people when a bid has been accepted, because I will know. I don’t mean that to sound arrogant, but I’ve got arguably as good as sources at Chelsea as I have at West Ham.”

TIF Thoughts…

As such, it would appear that @ExWHUemployee is extremely confident that there has been no bid for the £44.55 million-rated Rice as yet this summer, which correlates to West Ham dismissing the reports that Chelsea had made an offer for the 21-year-old.

In addition to this, it seems as if he is also confident in the fact that Rice will indeed still be a West Ham player next season, which, as a fan of the club, must be music to your ears.
