Starting with an easy one how many points did Leeds end the season with?

This was just one of a number of different topics discussed by Hay, and he did spend a little bit of time going into the details of the new partnerships between Clipper and SBOTOP.

This is what he had to say on new sponsorship deals:

“My understanding with SBOTOP individually, so their deal, is that it will be worth in the region of £7m a year, which is not far off a tenfold increase and it gives you a really stark indication of how much the finances do leap once you get out of the EFL and into the Premier League.

“On top of that, they’ve obviously got the deal with Clipper for the training gear; they will announce a deal with a sleeve sponsor as well, and I think between the kit sponsorship agreements that are out there, they’ll be looking at an income of about £10m a season, which again, [is a] huge amount of money and is taking them to a different level financially.”

So, it looks like Leeds are going to make a decent amount of money from their new sponsorship deals and it is interesting that just the deal with SBOTOP is worth almost 10 times that of their sponsorship deal in the Championship.

Do you think these sponsorship deals will make a difference?

TIF Thoughts…

Angus Kinnear did say in an interview that he was expecting sponsorship deals to increase because that is what happens in the Premier League, and it is clear that the Whites are taking advantage of it.

£10m a season from sponsorship deals could be considered a good amount of revenue, and it will be intriguing to see where it is spent as the season progresses.
