Spurs podcaster Jason McGovern has shared his thoughts on Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose and what he would like to see happen to the Englishman this summer.

This comes as McGovern recently made an appearance on The Last Word On Spurs Podcast to talk through a range of topics related to the north London club.

How well do you remember Heung-Min Son's time with Spurs? - The Lilywhites signed Son from which Bundesliga side?

On the subject of Rose, who joined Newcastle United on a loan deal away from Spurs in the previous January transfer window until the end of the 2019/20 season, McGovern shared his thoughts about the full-back and whether or not he’d like to see Rose play for Spurs again, after Rose recently claimed that he wants to remain a Spurs player and go back to playing for the north London club for the foreseeable future.

McGovern said: “I think we’ve already seen that as Newcastle’s Arabic money seemed to collapse, then Danny was saying that he couldn’t wait to go back to Tottenham and he loved to play in front of the Tottenham crowd again and I just thought ‘please, I never, ever, ever want to see you in that shirt again. Go, please just go anywhere.'”

Spurs signed Rose from the Leeds United youth academy back in 2007. Since then, the 30-year-old has made a total of 214 appearances for Tottenham, in which he has managed to score 10 goals and provide 29 assists.

Rose’s performances in the 11 league appearances he made for Steve Bruce’s side last season during his loan deal at St. James’ Park earned him a pretty uninspiring season rating of 6.47/10 (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

Despite McGovern’s insistence that Rose should never play for Spurs again, it will be interesting to see what the club do with the defender this summer as they decide to keep him in the squad, send him out on another loan move or just sell him altogether.
