To get things started a rather easy one. Who scored Newcastle's first league goal of the season?

The Daily Star claims that Ashley is set to release a statement that will brand Henry Mauriss and the Bellagraph Nova Group as time-wasters, and it will also defend his role in the collapsed takeover by Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium.

Ashley has previously commented on this failed takeover with a short statement via Lee Charnley, claiming that he was still ‘100% committed’ to the Staveley deal.

However, since then, the Premier League have issued their response to why the Staveley deal failed.

Following on from that, there is talk that work is happening behind the scenes that could result in the Staveley bid being resurrected, however, nothing appears to have happened yet.

Ashley was also said to have been growing impatient with Mauriss a few weeks ago, and he hasn’t even spoken to the BN Group that submitted a bid £20m below his asking price.

It now looks as if he will respond and target both Mauriss and the BN Group and that has drawn a reaction from these Toon fans.

Are you expecting Ashley to release this statement?

No, he won't say anything

James Pallotta is also said to be interested in taking over the Toon. He has just sold Roma and is also selling his stake in the Boston Celtics, so there might still be a takeover of Newcastle United.

Still, if this report is true, then it won’t be from Mauriss or the BN Group because Ashley thinks they have wasted his time.

Many Toon fans responded to this post and are worried that they will have Ashley as the owner for a long time.

At the time of writing, Ashley had yet to release this statement, though it would surely mean the end for Mauriss and the BN Group’s hopes of buying Newcastle.
