A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from NUFC 360, which has relayed news from Sky Sports concerning the failed takeover by Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-backed consortium.

To get things started a rather easy one. Who scored Newcastle's first league goal of the season?

It is claimed that there is nothing to stop the buyers and Mike Ashley from launching legal action because the Premier League has ‘acknowledged the need for a resolution’ to this situation.

This means that the deal could go before the High Court and be settled there if the buyers or Ashley decide to launch a legal challenge.

This has drawn the attention of these Toon fans, who want this to happen.

Staveley’s consortium withdrew its bid on 30th July; however, it has emerged that the deal hit a major stumbling block in June, with the Premier League unable to separate PIF from the Saudi state.

Having been asked for more information and also offered arbitration, PIF refused and then pulled out of the deal.

However, the consortium claims that the Premier League was given assurances from the Saudi government’s highest reaches that there would be no state interference, but that wasn’t deemed enough.

It is also claimed that Ashley is readying legal action, so we will just have to see if he does decide to go down that route.

These Toon fans, though, are convinced that nothing will happen.

It is unclear what the consortium has planned now, while interest has since emerged from the Bellagraph Nova Group, but that has not reached the stage where Ashley has become involved just yet.

So, it remains to be seen what happens with the Staveley-led takeover, but it is clear that these Toon fans want those involved to launch some sort of legal challenge.
