Supporters of Newcastle United have been reacting to a report which has emerged regarding the Saudi Arabian-backed consortium which was looking to take over the club.
According to a report by The Independent, there is growing confidence that a compromise can be reached that will see the takeover of the Toon ‘resurrected’.
Supposedly, the three parties – those being the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF), the Reuben brothers and Amanda Staveley’s PCP Capital Partners – still have the ‘appetite‘ to purchase Newcastle.
Therefore, the trio ‘continue to work behind the scenes’ to find a ‘formula’ which will allow the takeover to go ahead.
This report was shared to supporters on social media by NUFC 360 and it had lots of them talking.
“The appetite to purchase #nufc remains.
"The three parties continue to work behind the scenes to find a formula that will allow the takeover to proceed. There is quiet confidence that some sort of compromise can be found.” [Independent]

With the Premier League set to resume on 12th September, it is stated in the report that the season will start with Mike Ashley remaining as owner.
Do you believe there is any chance of the Saudi Arabian-backed takeover bid being resurrected?
No, I just can't see it
Yes, anything is possible
Just want the season to start now, had more than enough. Bring on the football!!

It was announced in late July that the Saudi-backed £300m bid to take over the club had been ended after the consortium pulled out (per BBC).
As stated in the BBC’s report, it was ‘understood’ that PIF had run out of patience with the Premier League’s owners’ and directors’ test.
Oooh goody, more confidence. Let it go man

As can be seen in these responses from Newcastle supporters, there were mixed reactions from them towards the report on the possibility of the failed bid being ‘resurrected’.
