Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest update surrounding the potential revival of the failed Saudi-backed takeover.
This comes after Newcastle news Twitter account @NUFC360 shared a post relaying comments made by journalist Keith Downie, who claimed that a ‘source close to Mike Ashley’ at Newcastle has asked if the takeover would be passed should the consortium provide the requested information.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Newcastle fans, who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest update.
Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans responding to the post:
Keith Downie on Sky Sports News: “A high level source at NUFC has asked the question whether if PIF now provide the information requested, would the takeover be passed” #nufc

Real question should be why haven’t they already ?????

Back in July, it was revealed that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, PCP Capital Partners and Reuben Brothers had ended their interest in taking over Newcastle from Ashley, claiming that the “prolonged process under the current circumstances coupled with global uncertainty has rendered the potential investment no longer commercially viable,” according to a statement.
if Ashley gets this deal back on the table, I’ll go on a spending spree at Sports Direct

Interesting but just because they answer the question doesn’t mean we would pass the directors test

Now that this news regarding a potential green light for the takeover in the future has been shared with Toon supporters, this opened the door for lots of Newcastle fans to have their say on the matter.
If this could of been resolved it would of been already, seems PIF may be hiding something that the PL wanted to know but are unwilling to show evidence to them as to why they pulled out?
We need to hear from Amanda and the consortium to see if they can indeed solve this.

Do you think the takeover could be resurrected?
Yes
No
Hopefully ?

It appears that some of these Newcastle fans are quite hopeful that the takeover could be resurrected if the consortium provides the relevant information to the Premier League, but this begs the question of why they didn’t in the first place before the group voluntarily pulled out of the deal.
