LFC Daytrippers contributor Grizz Khan has been discussing the future of Marko Grujic on a recent edition of the podcast.

The Serbian midfielder has recently returned to Anfield having spent two seasons with Hertha Berlin on loan in the Bundesliga (via Transfermarkt.co.uk). The 24-year-old recently featured for the Reds during their comfortable pre-season friendly victory over Stuttgart, prompting the subject of the player to be discussed during the show.

2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

According to Khan, Grujic has been the subject of much interest this summer and therefore he was surprised to see him feature in the recent fixture, here is what he had to say:

“He’s the player with the most interest from other clubs, I can tell you that for a fact. The most amount of enquiries have been made for [Marko] Grujic so he’s a man in demand. I’m slightly surprised he’s with the squad playing. It’s pretty much nailed on that he or Wilson are going to be the first ones that get picked off by other clubs.”

TIF Thoughts…

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, Grujic is currently valued at £13.05m and so we can assume if the Merseyside club are to sell him this summer, they would be looking for a fee of at least that amount.

He made 29 appearances in the Bundesliga during the 2019/20 campaign and according to WhoScored.com, his average performance rating was a solid 6.94/10.

Taking the above into account, you can understand why, according to Khan, there have been a number of enquiries regarding his availability this summer. Although by participating in the club’s pre-season friendlies there is a risk of him picking up an injury, perhaps there is a chance he could still prove to Jurgen Klopp he can play a role in the Liverpool first-team squad ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.
