Supporters of Leeds United have been flocking to a Twitter post which was shared to social media by The Athletic’s Phil Hay.
On Monday morning, the journalist shared a link to a report on The Athletic’s website which discussed the Whites’ academy’s summer transfer business (per Phil Hay).
In the tweet, the journalist stated that Sam Greenwood is ‘set to become’ the next signing for the club’s Under-23s.
Supposedly, Leeds will ‘attempt to tie up’ the arrival of the Arsenal striker sometime this week.
So, lots of the Elland Road faithful flocked to Hay’s tweet to air their thoughts on the transfer news.
As referenced in this piece, Arsenal striker Sam Greenwood set to become the next Under-23 signing at Leeds United.

Serious business being done with the youth setup, first team additions are going to take time. It’s all quiet everywhere at the moment. Patience people

According to Transfermarkt, the 18-year-old attacker has made seven appearances for Arsenal’s Under-23s in which he has netted just one goal.
However, he was more prolific for the Gunners’ Under-18s as he bagged 15 goals and six assists in 39 appearances.

However, many supporters could not help but air their concern for a perceived lack of movement regarding first-team signings so far this summer.
Are you worried about the club's first-team transfer business so far this summer?
No, no need to worry
Yes, it doesn't look good
Fantastic we are signing these young players but the first needs signings more than anything

U23 signings are great, but we urgently need senior team signings…

As can be seen in these responses from Leeds supporters, they were clearly delighted with the news about Greenwood, however, many were keen for the club to make first-team signings.
