Many Leeds United fans have been discussing the latest news update linking them with a move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey.

Journalist Manu Lonjon recently tweeted about Bailey, saying that Leeds have now ‘made an offer’ to sign the Leverkusen star.

Sport1 have previously linked the Jamaican with a move to Tottenham and Everton, with the report claiming that the player is ‘already dreaming’ about playing in the Premier League.

The update about Bailey caught the attention of many Leeds fans, who flocked to Twitter to express their opinion about the news. Some of them seemed delighted about this rumour.

The 23-year-old Bailey made 33 appearances in all competitions for Leverkusen in the 2019/20 season. He scored seven goals and picked up three assists. In the Bundesliga, he contributed to a total of eight goals in 22 appearances for Die Werkself (as per Transfermarkt).

A couple of other Leeds fans also talked about this rumour and made their opinion very clear.

All in all, these Leeds fans seem pretty pleased by the idea of the club signing Bailey this summer, with Valencia’s Rodrigo Moreno also being linked with a switch to Elland Road.

Bailey earned a WhoScored rating of 6.70 in the Bundesliga last season and as many as 16 players got better ratings than him in the 2019/20 league season for Leverkusen. That is a reflection of how he needs to improve as a footballer and perhaps contribute to more goals.

He is still 23 and there may still be a chance that he improves with time. If Leeds can offer him the platform to improve, this might prove to be a good move for both parties.
