Supporters of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a transfer link which has emerged between the club and Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic.
According to a recent report by the Daily Mail, Spurs are interested in securing the services of the Croatian midfielder.
Supposedly, Tottenham are one of three Premier League clubs keen on signing the 32-year-old middleman, with Arsenal and Manchester United also named.
Spanish outfit Sevilla have been mentioned as a potential suitor, too.
As stated in the Daily Mail’s report, the experienced player could be available from the Catalan club for around £9m.
This report was shared on social media by Hotspur Related and it had lots of Tottenham fans talking.

Non story for me, respect for Rakitic but we don’t need another midfielder

However, other supporters of Spurs were more positive towards the transfer link between the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club and the Croatian.
Would you be happy if Spurs signed Ivan Rakitic from Barcelona?

During the 2019/20 season, Rakitic made 31 La Liga appearances for Barcelona, in which he picked up a weak 6.57/10 average rating (per WhoScored).
The average rating made the 32-year-old midfielder the seventh-worst performer to feature for the La Liga giants.
Had Rakitic earned the same average rating for Spurs in the Premier League during the most recent season, then he would have been their joint-tenth-worst player (per WhoScored).
32 isn’t too old Same age as Lewandowski

This is a possibility and not unrealistic

As can be seen in these responses from Spurs supporters, there was a mixed bag of reactions regarding the transfer link with Rakitic.
