Crystal Palace are said to be one of a number of clubs interested in the Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe, according to the Independent.

According to the report, the 20-year-old has been reintegrated into the first-team squad at London Colney by Mikel Arteta after spending the second half of the 2019/20 campaign at Huddersfield Town in the Championship on loan.

Crystal Palace fan? We bet you can't get 100% on this Palace 19/20 season quiz. We'll start off with an easy one... Which side did Palace face on the opening day of the 19/20 Premier League season?

During his time there, Smith Rowe made 19 appearances for the Terriers, scoring two goals and providing his teammates with three assists (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk).

However, it appears the South London-based club are not the only ones who have shown an interest in the player. It’s understood that Fulham are also keen and that French Ligue 1 club Monaco are hoping to take Smith Rowe across the channel permanently.

TIF Thoughts…

During his time in the Championship last season, according to WhoScored.com, his average performance rating was a solid 6.7/10. The England Under-20 international’s strengths are said to be in his ability to pass well, play key passes and dribble successfully.

According to WhoScored, aspects of his game in which the player may still need to develop, include his finishing, aerial duels and his defensive contribution.

It has been reported that the Eagles are targeting QPR’s Eberechi Eze in the attacking midfield position but if they’re unable to agree a deal with the West London-based club, perhaps Smith Rowe would be a suitable alternative.

Crystal Palace managed just 31 goals in the Premier League last season, only Norwich City scored less and so if they’re to improve on their 14th placed finish next time out, it could be argued they will need to add some creativity to their ranks.
