Starting with an easy one how many points did Leeds end the season with?

During the episode, Hay discussed various topics all relating to Leeds United, and one of the things he talked about was the Whites’ pursuit of the Wigan striker.

Here is what he said on the 18-year-old:

“They are very, very close to doing a deal for Joe Gelhardt, the striker from Wigan.

“My understanding with him is that medical is no issue, terms are no issue, and I think they are quite happy to meet what the administrators over at Wigan want them to pay, it is just going to come down to a case of whether Gelhardt himself is 100% set on coming to Leeds.”

So, it looks like the Whites could be adding Gelhardt to their side if the player is happy to move to Elland Road.

Would you be pleased if Leeds signed Gelhardt?

Gelhardt has also been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, but if Hay is correct, the Whites could beat all of these other clubs to a highly-rated player.

Last season in the FA Youth Cup, the 18-year-old scored a hat-trick against Hull City and also featured for the senior team on 18 occasions in the league, in which he managed to score one goal in a draw with Hull back in September 2019.

Gelhardt has been linked with a move to the Whites for a while now, and according to Hay, Leeds are closing in on signing the promising 18-year-old, who is valued at £1.17m.
