Many Celtic fans have been talking about the latest tweet that journalist Tom English recently relayed on social media.
English’s latest tweet saw him share a post from the Celtic FC Foundation. It was announced that 500 hot meals a day will be made available to NHS staff and key workers at Gartnavel General Hospital and Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre.
English shared this tweet, praising the club for the act. He said: “So many great things being done by so many different football clubs.”
But the journalist’s tweet caught the attention of many Celtic fans. They mocked what English had to say about it.
Bet you that absolutely killed you to have to include Celtic in that.

Is Tom English biased against Celtic?
Yes, he's against us
No, he's doing his job!
Wow did someone write that for you surely you haven’t written something positive about Celtic my god that must have killed you

These Celtic fans seem to think that English is backing away from directly mentioning the Hoops’ name. Another Celtic fan quote tweeted this post from English and that, too, caught the attention of a Hoops fan.
It’s like when you were made to praise someone you hate as a kid…. Must have been greeting while typing this https://t.co/OGwKUSYlDQ

Clearly, all of these Celtic fans are having a go at English for not specifically mentioning Celtic and for generalising the issue in some ways.
English has previously criticised Celtic fans for opposing the independent investigation into the running of the SPFL. His tweet suggests that he had been against the Hoops and was in favour of what Rangers had proposed by launching the investigation into the SPFL’s running.
That could be one reason why Celtic fans aren’t exactly on his side. Considering how the journalist had favoured the Gers in the whole SPFL situation, one can see why Celtic fans aren’t pleased with English.
