Many Celtic fans have been talking about the club’s links with a move to sign former St. Mirren goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky.
Football Insider recently reported that the Hoops see Hladky as a potential alternative for Fraser Forster. They claim that while the deal for Forster is still ‘alive’, Neil Lennon is now looking for alternative options in the market.
The report claims that the Hoops’ recruitment team see Hladky as one of the best goalkeepers in the country. They say that the Gers have now already pulled out of the chase for the 29-year-old.
This update was relayed on Twitter by the Daily Record recently. This caught the attention of many Celtic fans and they flocked to this post. Many of them had a negative opinion about this news.

Would Hladky be a good Fraser Forster replacement?
No, Forster is much better
Yes, I'd like that
Guesswork now ?

While these Celtic fans were negative about this update, some of them made it clear that they think this would not be a bad move at all for the Hoops.
Good move for back up. Bring in Hart and we should be set. Looking at the work Woods has done with Gordon and Forster after extended periods out the game he could return Hart to his best. https://t.co/5qQ94NFsjG

Journalist Stefan Bienkowski also relayed this information on Twitter and this led to one Celtic fan making his opinion clear about it.
Forster to him is a major let down, especially in the most important of seasons. He might do well and undoubtedly had a good season with St Mirren. But at 29 – he was there for a reason.

Hladky is currently without a club as his contract at St. Mirren recently expired. In the 2019/20 campaign, Hladky was a regular for the Premiership club, as he made 30 appearances in the league. In all competitions, he made 38 appearances, keeping a total of 14 clean sheets (via Transfermarkt).
Hladky is an experienced goalkeeper and knows how things work in the Premiership. The Hoops will need experience and reliability to potentially clinch what would be their 10th Premiership title in a row next season and Hladky seems to offer that. So a move for him could prove to be good business for the Hoops, especially since he is a free agent right now.
