Many Celtic fans have been fuming at the latest tweet that the Daily Record recently relayed on social media.

The Daily Record recently posted a tweet about Daniel Arzani, calling him a Celtic ‘flop’ and revealed that the Australian is closing in on a move to Dutch club FC Utrecht.

This was originally reported by Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, who said that only a work permit and completion of final paperwork is left for the player to join Utrecht. His loan stint at Celtic has now ended and Manchester City remain as his parent club (via Transfermarkt).

Starting with an easy one- apart from Paris Saint-Germain, which other French club did Edouard play for?

But the tweet from the Daily Record caught the attention of many Celtic fans. They flocked to the tweet and made their displeasure clear for calling Arzani a ‘flop’.

Would you call Arzani a Celtic 'flop'?

Never, he didn't a chance

Yes, he was a flop

Yes, he was a flop

Arzani had joined Celtic on loan from Man City in the summer of 2018. But during his time at Parkhead, the winger missed as many as 82 games due to injury. He had suffered a cruciate ligament rupture back in October 2018.

Because of the injury that he had faced at Parkhead, some more Celtic fans said that it would be unfair to call him a ‘flop’.

As a Celtic player, Arzani made only two appearances in all competitions over a period of two seasons. One appearance came in the Premiership in the 2018/19 season, with the other coming in the Scottish Cup in the 2019/20 season (via Transfermarkt).

While no one knows if Arzani could have gone onto become a star player for the Hoops or not, but he could have become a prominent feature of the first-team if the injury hadn’t struck. So the word ‘flop’ might be a little too extreme as he never really got a fair chance at the club.
