Forrest started this game for the Hoops and remained on the pitch until the 61st minute when Celtic made multiple substitutions, as per celticfc.net.
Plenty of Celtic supporters were unhappy with Forrest’s performance in this game and they aired their frustration with the £5.4m-rated player on social media.
Forrest isn’t overrated but he has had a poor game, gave the ball away too many times. But it’s only the first game into pre-season and his sharpness and hopefully his distribution will rise.

Some Hoops supporters shared that they believe Forrest didn’t have a good game in this pre-season outing. One Celtic fan even called for Forrest to be sold, while another member of the Hoops’ fanbase went so far as to say that Forrest should be left in Lyon, which is playing host to the mini-tournament.

Ex-Ajax forward Kasper Dolberg opened the scoring for Nice in the first half of the game. Prior to scoring his goal, the Danish attacker carried the ball into a central position from the left-hand side of Celtic’s penalty area, beating multiple Hoops players, including Forrest.
Some Celtic supporters shared some criticism for Forrest’s failure to stop Dolberg during his mazy run that led to the opening goal of the game.
See Forrest back to avoiding tackling as much as he can. Ajer as well sliding when its no needed.

Judging by these tweets, it’s clear that many Celtic supporters were displeased by Forrest’s performance in this game and they will likely be hoping to see the 29-year-old Scotland international deliver some more positive performances in the club’s remaining pre-season fixtures before the beginning of the 2020/21 Scottish Premiership season, which will see Celtic attempt to win a 10th-straight Scottish Premiership title.
