Fans of Newcastle United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports of the club’s interest in AS Roma forward Patrik Schick.
According to reports by Il Sussi Diario (via Sport Witness), Schick’s representatives have ‘received requests’ in the past few days from four clubs, which are said to be Newcastle, Bayer Leverkusen, Fiorentina and AC Milan.
After this information was relayed on Twitter by NUFC 360, fans of the club flocked to have their say on the matter, with many suggesting that they would love to see the transfer go through.

He’s quality, I’d have him both with and without the takeover.

Think there’ll be some substance in this tbh. Window opens in only 11 days and it’s still ‘business as usual’ under Ashley. He’s been linked a few times before too. One to watch. Good player

Despite enjoying a fine season while on loan at RB Leipzig, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists over his 22 Bundesliga appearances for the club, it is said that although Leipzig had an option to buy the forward for €29 million (£26.3 million), the German side are not looking to utilise this offer.
Would you like to see Newcastle make a move for Schick, even without the takeover?
Yes
No
However, Roma are still said to be keen on selling the player and are reported to be looking for around €28-€29 million (£25.4-£26.3 million) for Schick, although Sport Witness reports that this figure could be negotiated to around €25 million (£22.7 million) – something which would remain ‘an affordable fee for Steve Bruce’s side even without the backing of their potential new owners’.
Decent player. Would definitely be an upgrade to Joey

I wonder if he’s waiting for the takeover before he makes his move.
He must be Schick to the back teeth of it like we all are.

However, despite the rather positive reaction to the links with Schick, one fan would clearly rather not see his side make a move for the 24-year-old.
We don’t need him ??

Nevertheless, it would appear that many of these Newcastle fans would like to see their club make a move for the Roma forward, with or without their mooted takeover being approved.
