Supporters of Celtic have been reacting to an admission from referee Kevin Clancy which was posted to social media.

According to a report from The Herald, Scottish Premiership referees ‘know exactly what is at stake this season’, as stated by Clancy.

That is due to the fact that Neil Lennon’s Hoops will be chasing their 10th Scottish top-flight title in a row next year (per BBC).

However, the Parkhead faithful were unsure what the referee meant when the admission was relayed to them on social media by The Cynic.

Starting with an easy one- apart from Paris Saint-Germain, which other French club did Edouard play for?

The Hoops are set to return to Scottish Premiership action this Sunday when they host Hamilton Academical at Celtic Park in a 4.30pm kick-off (per BBC).

Does Kevin Clancy's admission sound somewhat ominous to you?

In the league last season, Clancy was the man in the middle for six separate Celtic matches, five of which were played at Celtic Park (per Transfermarkt).

Over those six Hoops matches which the 36-year-old Scotsman refereed, Lennon’s side claimed four victories, one draw and one defeat.

As can be seen in these responses from Celtic supporters, they were clearly very suspicious about what the referee had to say.
