All Leeds TV pundit Joe Wainman has been discussing the transfer links which have been drawn between Leeds United and Thiago Almada.

The 19-year-old Velez Sarsfield attacking midfielder has recently discussed his interest in joining the Whites in an interview with TyC Sports (via Sports Mole).

Despite being linked with Manchester United and Manchester City, Almada said he ‘would like [Marcelo] Bielsa to coach’ him, but ‘we have to see’ if it will happen or not.

In a recent video for All Leeds TV, which has a combined following of over 25,000 across its YouTube and Twitter platforms, Wainman discussed the transfer links with the Argentine youngster.

Nice easy one to start off with, from which club did Leeds sign Hernandez?

He said: “Look, he’s an exciting talent. I’m not going to sit here and profess to know everything about him but ultimately, he’s in the Pablo [Hernandez]-esque type of mould.

“We’ve been linked with [Emiliano] Buendia previously, maybe this is another option, and for £20m and for what’s been said about him, he could be a snip.

“He plays over in South America, it’s that Argentinian link, it’s that South American link, and a lot of these players are going to want to come and play under Marcelo Bielsa.

“And why wouldn’t you? He’s the best coach in the world, right?”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what Wainman had to say, he seems to rate the midfielder highly and feels that Almada’s reported £20m fee to sign him would be worth it.

Would you be pleased if Leeds signed Thiago Almada?

Having bagged five goals and two assists for Velez Sarsfield in all competitions during the 2019/20 season (per Transfermarkt), it would certainly seem that the youngster has potential.

Furthermore, his market value of £16.2m (as per Transfermarkt) suggests that £20m would perhaps not even be over the odds for the player.
