The Athletic’s Tim Spiers has been discussing if Wolverhampton Wanderers should sell Adama Traore if a large transfer offer arrives.

Even in early January, it was being touted that clubs were interested in signing the Spaniard, however, it was stated that the Old Gold would not sell for less than £70m (per 90min).

In the report by 90min, three clubs were touted to be supposedly interested in the winger and they were Barcelona, Manchester City and Premier League champions Liverpool.

So, after a supporter posed a question over what the Molineux club would do if a £55m bid arrived for the 24-year-old attacker, Spiers aired his thoughts during the latest episode of The Molineux View podcast. (53:35)

To start this quiz on Ruben Neves with an easy one, in the region of how much did the Old Gold pay to secure the midfielder's services?

He said: “We potentially saw a glimpse into the future with [Daniel] Podence’s performance on Sunday.

“They’ve got [Diogo] Jota, they’ve got [Pedro] Neto, they can put that Traore money back into the squad and sign another forward.

“It’s an interesting dilemma. I think if they get, as [the supporter] suggests, anything above £55m, I think they’d probably take that, to be honest.

“I know Traore is potentially going to improve as the years go on, but you look at his shoulder, you look at the fact he can be inconsistent and you look at the fact he doesn’t score many goals, then I think an offer of that magnitude would be too much to turn down.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what Spiers had to say, it is seemingly his belief that if a big offer of £55m arrived for Traore then the club would perhaps be willing to accept it.

Would you be disappointed if Wolves accepted a £55m offer for Adama Traore?

No, that's a good price

Yes, that's not enough

Yes, that's not enough

While the Spaniard does have three years remaining on his contract at Molineux, his market value is £22.95m according to Transfermarkt, which would suggest that an offer of £55m would be too good to turn down.
