Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly eyeing a swoop for Real Madrid’s Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez in the next transfer window.

According to a report by Marca, as cited by Sportslens, the La Liga side is willing to cut their losses and sell the 28-year-old at a cut-price.

As stated in the report, Rodriguez could be available in the summer for a fee of just €25m (£22.6m).

To start this quiz on Ruben Neves with an easy one, in the region of how much did the Old Gold pay to secure the midfielder's services?

In fact, the player himself has supposedly ‘made it clear’ that he no longer wishes to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu and be a Real Madrid player.

However, according to Marca, the Old Gold are not the only Premier League club interest in the midfielder, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Everton also eyeing the transfer.

The Colombia international only has one year left on his current contract and a market value of £28.8m, according to Transfermarkt.

TIF Thoughts…

This season, appearances in La Liga have been few and far between for the Colombian, as he has made just eight league appearances for Los Blancos (per WhoScored).

His performances, though, have still been relatively solid as he has picked up a respectable 6.91/10 average rating in La Liga.

Had Rodriguez earned the same average rating for Wolves in the Premier League this season, then he would have been their sixth-best performer (per WhoScored).

However, in comparison to Wolves’ Joao Moutinho, the Colombian does not look as impressive as the Portuguese 33-year-old.

In the league this season, Moutinho has made 2.2 key passes, 49.5 average passes and has a passing success percentage of 85.4%, all of these better Rodriguez’s 1.8 key passes, 33.9 average passes and 82.3% passing success.

However, as stated by Marca, the 28-year-old no longer wants to play for Real Madrid. So, perhaps he may perform better somewhere where he is settled.
