According to recent reports, Wolves are being touted as a possible destination for Napoli central midfielder, Allan.
The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Italy this summer, with the player’s former manager, Carlo Ancelotti, said to be interested in taking the player to Everton.
However, RAI Sport journalist, Ciro Venerato, recently told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli (via Sport Witness) that Wolves are also a potential suitor for the midfielder.
He said: “Allan will go away. Vlasic can arrive who is a different player, more of a dribbler, but it would seem that Napoli wants a midfielder like this and not in the ‘Allan’ mould. For the Brazilian, Jorge Mendes has also joined the deal, he will try to bring him to the Premier League. There’s Everton, Wolverhampton and another club.”
The involvement of Jorge Mendes is potentially a crucial factor in the deal, as the agent has an established relationship with Wolves, with many of Mendes’ clients playing for the midlands club.
Although the midfielder has fallen out of favour somewhat under the management of Gennaro Gattuso – Allan has started just 15 Serie A games so far this season – looking at Allan’s stats over the past couple of seasons, it is clear the player is still extremely capable.
In the 2017/18 Serie A season, Allan made 38 appearances for Napoli, scoring four goals and providing five assists, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 7.17, while, in the club’s 2018/19 league campaign, the midfielder made 33 appearances, scoring one goal and providing three assists, averaging a match rating of 7.13.

With the Brazilian currently being valued at £28.8 million, it would likely not be a cheap deal for Wolves to secure the midfielder’s services.

However, with it being reported that Gattuso is hoping for an overhaul of his Napoli squad this summer, and it is fairly apparent that Allan is not part of his plans, one would imagine that the price for the midfielder could be negotiated with the Italian club.
