The Athletic reporter Roshane Thomas has expanded upon West Ham United’s reported interest in signing Queens Park Rangers attacker Eberechi Eze.

This season, the 22-year-old playmaker has been in stellar form in the Championship having bagged an impressive 14 goals and eight assists in 46 appearances (per WhoScored).

These performances have caught the eyes of a number of potential suitors, one of which is the Irons as the player is said to be one of David Moyes’ ‘top transfer targets this summer’ (per Evening Standard).

So, in the latest episode of The Athletic’s U Irons podcast, Thomas aired an update on the club’s reported interest in the attacker.

To start this quiz on Mark Noble with a tough one, in what year did the midfielder make his league debut for the Hammers?

He said: “We have positive news for West Ham fans; [it is] serious interest.

“David Ornstein mentioned in his column that Eze’s been linked with Crystal Palace and West Ham. So, they are the two frontrunners to try and sign him this summer.

“He’ll be a great addition for this team. As we mentioned, another player who’s up and coming, a player who’ll have resale value, a player who could perhaps [become] a future England international.

“So, yeah, [he’s a] great player with tremendous potential and it would be great if we could get him.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what Thomas had to say, he makes it clear that the Hammers do have an interest in signing the attacker and they are currently leading the way, alongside the Eagles.

Would you be happy if West Ham signed Eberechi Eze from QPR this summer?

If Eze can replicate the impressive form that Jarrod Bowen has delivered since making the step up from the Championship in January, he would certainly make for an astute purchase.
