West Ham United-focused publication Claret & Hugh recently published an article that provided Irons fans with an update on the status of club-record signing Sebastien Haller

As per Claret & Hugh, club-record signing Haller’s absence of late has got some Hammers supporters talking. This article states that the Frenchman’s absence has led to some ‘suggestions on social media’ that the club intend to sell the attacker this summer, and that ‘others have suggested Haller’s next appearance will trigger another massive payment’ to Eintracht Frankfurt, who he joined West Ham from last summer.

However, this report dispels those rumours, as Claret & Hugh has claimed that ‘a bemused club insider’ has told them that the 26-year-old is ‘just injured’. The report then claims that the Irons’ medical staff are ‘thought to be targeting a full return and potential start’ for Haller in the Hammers’ home clash with Burnley on 8th July

The Hammers signed the French striker, who is now valued at £32.4 million (Transfermarkt), for a club-record transfer fee of £45m last summer, however, the 26-year-old has been absent from each of West Ham’s two Premier League fixtures since the club returned to top-flight action following a break of more than three months on 20th June.

TIF Thoughts…

West Ham are currently sitting in 17th place in the Premier League table, with just goal difference currently keeping them out of the relegation zone. With that in mind, as well as their struggles in front of goal in recent weeks, Irons fans will likely be hoping to see their club-record signing and top league goalscorer for the 2019/20 campaign return to full fitness as soon as possible.
