On the latest episode of the Extra Inch podcast, Chris Miller, Nathan Clark and Bardi have been discussing the latest goings-on at the north London club, including the future of midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

The Frenchman was once again left on the bench for the game against Arsenal at the weekend, and was all-but ruled out of tonight’s clash with Newcastle United at St James’ Park by Jose Mourinho after picking up an injury in training.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? - Who did Spurs beat in the opening fixture?

Here’s what Miller had to say about the former Lyon man, after feeling that his performance against Bournemouth last week and Mourinho’s comments on him after the game led him to jump to conclusions over the 23-year-old’s Spurs future.

He said: “Ndombele came on at half time against Bournemouth, and immediately Spurs went up a notch as a team, and he was great. He looked really exciting, and then Mourinho, post-match, made that comment, saying he was no better or worse than the others. I found that really, really sad and it made me think he’s definitely going, like there’s no way this guy’s staying at Spurs, and that upset me.”

TIF Thoughts…

Following the game against Bournemouth, the Portuguese manager did indeed suggest (per Football.London) that Ndombele ‘was the same level as the team, not better and not worse’. This has clearly frustrated Miller, as he felt that the Frenchman had much improved the team in the match at the Vitality Stadium.

Will Ndombele leave Spurs this summer?

With the 23-year-old being linked with a move to Barcelona in recent weeks, it is perhaps no surprise that Miller feels the end is near for Ndombele at Tottenham, and considering he is yet to make a start for the Lilywhites since the season’s resumption last month, it is easy to see why.
