A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Craig Hope after he provided an update on the proposed takeover of the Toon.
The Daily Mail reporter claimed that sources say that an announcement from the Premier League is close and that it is expected to go in favour of the takeover.
However, just after he tweeted Saudi Arabia announced that they were blocking BeIN Sports in the country, which has made one Newcastle fan think that there will be yet another delay.
What do you make of them banning Bein today though Craig? Sure that will be another thing to delay it

Do you think this will turn out to be a good thing for the takeover?
No, it seems like a bad move
Yes, I am sure it will help in some way
These other Toon fans are clearly just sick of all the speculation.
Here we go again, you lot know the same as us sitting at home. The whole “It’s close, announcement imminent” this whole thing has been going on for the past few months and we are still at the same stage now as we we’re then. Ridiculous!

Saudi Arabia have announced a crackdown on piracy in their country, and so this seems a bizarre move to block one of the Premier League’s biggest partners.
Yes, BeIN have tried to stop this takeover, but surely blocking them could cause problems though it is unclear what this actually means for the takeover of Newcastle.
This has drawn the attention of these Toon fans who feel that is a good thing.
If Bein is banned in the kingdom it means severe punishment for their citizens to stream it thru iptv which imo is yet another reassurance to the @premierleague that they are going the extra mile to combat piracy, as for future deals on tv rights thats another debate.

Feels slightly different given recent confirmed positive activity around the known sensitive commercial issues. If I were a betting man and I’m not it I would say an announcement end of this week or beginning of next.

A deposit was paid to Mike Ashley by Amanda Staveley’s consortium, but since then, nothing has happened.
This report suggests that the Premier League are close to announcing a decision, but this new move by Saudi Arabia could complicate matters.
Ben Rumsby did seem to think that this could be Saudi Arabia forming their own sports broadcasting station and that would lead to them buying Premier League rights.
So that could happen, but this could also cause problems, and as of yet, no one knows anything, and we will just have to see what this means for a takeover process that started in April.
