Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to some footage of former winger Marcus Edwards scoring an impressive goal for Vitoria de Guimaraes.
The Spurs Web shared the footage on Twitter, after it was originally shared by VSPORTS, and it shows the 21-year-old brilliantly dribbling past a couple of defenders, before firing a shot high into the opposition net. It was the youngster’s sixth league goal of the season for the Portuguese side, in what has been a fantastic first season with Os Conquistadores, as he has also contributed four assists in his 21 league appearances, which has seen him average a superb 7.37 rating (per Whoscored).
The youngster left Spurs to join the Liga NOS side in the summer of last year, having made just one appearance for the senior side during his time with the Lilywhites. A number of disappointing loan spells with the likes of Norwich City and SBV Excelsior Rotterdam perhaps led to an early departure, with him unable to establish himself in the first-team squad, despite Mauricio Pochettino once comparing him to Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
Did Spurs make a mistake in selling Edwards?

Some Spurs fans suggested that Pochettino shouldn’t have let the youngster leave.
Allowing him to leave was Pochs fault. He would have made his debut under Mourinho by now

These Spurs fans seem to agree that it was perhaps a mistake to sell the 21-year-old and feel that, after seeing his impressive goal, it might be worth bringing him back to North London this summer.
