Steve Wraith has been speaking on a recent episode of #NUFC Matters with Michael Chopra about the proposed takeover of Newcastle United.

Starting with an easy one, against which club did Shelvey make his Newcastle debut?

Wraith left most of the talking to his guest, but he did provide his view on when he thinks there could be an announcement.

He believes that after the Toon play their final game of the season against Liverpool would be the ideal time to announce that Newcastle had changed hands.

Here is what he had to say about the situation:

“It makes complete sense [announcement after the Liverpool match] – the season finishes, everything is as it was, Newcastle finish a certain place in the league, which means that you would presume that the previous owner gets that extra million if they finish in 10th, or 11th, or 12th, or 13th, you rule off and you move on.

“He hands the keys over, and that’s it, so I think an announcement for the Liverpool game would make a lot of sense.”

It seems as if Wraith thinks that the Toon’s proposed takeover could be concluded straight after Newcastle end their season.

Do you think the takeover could be announced after the Liverpool game?

No, it just seems like a guess

TIF Thoughts…

Wraith has been very confident about this takeover throughout the process, as a quick look through his timeline will reveal.

It seems that he believes that the deal for Amanda Staveley’s Saudi consortium to buy Newcastle could be announced after the Reds visit St James’ Park.

However, there has been no indication of this from any media outlets, so it is unclear where this idea has come from.

It will be interesting to see if his dream of an announcement after Newcastle play Liverpool comes true.
