A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a post from BBC Sport that contains an article by Dan Roan and Alistair Magowan regarding the latest on the Magpies’ prospective takeover.
In this piece, they claim that the Amanda Staveley Saudi-backed bid to take the Toon from Mike Ashley has been delayed because of a lack of clarity over who would be in charge of the club.
The report states that the PL is still looking over the deal, but they want to know who will have the final say on all decisions at Newcastle as the Premier League’s lawyers struggle to separate PIF from the Saudi government.
This is seen as crucial over the allegations of piracy, and this post has drawn the attention of these Toon fans who are not happy with the Premier League.
Do you think that this can be resolved?
Yes, surely it is an easy fix
No, it seems like it is going to cause problems
4 months later and they still haven’t figured out who will be running the club. Howay.

You do realise you have just totally embarrassed @premierleague in this report???!! They don’t know who the owners and directors are after four month of doing a owners and directors test!!!!????????????????????????????????????????????

Rich Masters and his cronies down at @premierleague towers are acting disgracefully and have absolutely no regard for the fans and staff of NUFC. Why on earth the ineffectual @OliverDowden hasn’t stepped in is beyond comprehension

So 16 weeks into the test they are only looking for clarity on who will be running the club, should that not be the very first thing.. @premierleague are a joke

The deal was handed over to the PL in April after a deposit was paid to Ashley, but if this report is to be believed, then the Premier League have not even worked out who would be in charge.
This post continued to anger many Newcastle fans.
Human Rights issues – PASS ?
Piracy issues – PASS ?
“Who’s in charge?” issues – ???
Is this really what’s holding up the deal? @premierleague
Cos if it is, that’s pathetic.#NUFC

“… it appears the Premier League’s lawyers are struggling to establish the precise links between the consortium and the Saudi government.” So if they can’t find a link, how can they fail the bid?
— Len Eschle (@FelixLongbrook) July 27, 2020
I believe @premierleague this is either ‘Collusion’ against @NUFC or ‘Incompetence’ of your own selves
Pick one
And decide how you will deal with the outcome— Phyll Perrins (@ThePhyll13) July 28, 2020
However, a couple of fans gave more positive responses.
If this is all that’s holding it up then It must be close now https://t.co/ZrvW55Jwvi

So the piracy issue is gone? That’s good news then

This process has gone on for so long, and many issues over piracy and other things have emerged, and now the PL have come up with something else to delay a decision, but Newcastle are in limbo now and need a decision on this.
However, this latest report suggests that the PL have continued to delay a decision, so it is unclear how much longer this will go on for.
