According to recent reports, Manchester City have agreed to sign Valencia winger, and Manchester United and Juventus target, Ferran Torres.

The reports by Super Deporte (via Sport Witness) claim that the 20-year-old has not responded to a long-standing contract offer from Valencia, and, with only one year remaining on his current deal with the club, is expected to leave Los Che this summer.

And, despite interest from both Manchester United and Juventus, unless there is a ‘last-minute surprise’, the reports state that the winger’s next destination will be Manchester City.

According to Super Deporte, there is already an agreement in place between City and Torres, with the reports also stating that Valencia will not be difficult to deal with in terms of negotiating a fee for the player, as they are in ‘desperate need’ of funds due to failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

TIF Thoughts…

It is not surprising to see that a number of Europe’s top clubs are interested in Torres, as the 20-year-old has enjoyed a fine season for Valencia this term.

Over his 32 La Liga appearances so far this season, the winger has scored four goals and provided four assists, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.74 – ranking him as the club’s fourth-best performer.

In addition to this, Torres also thrived in the club’s Champions League campaign, scoring a further two goals and providing another two assists, averaging an incredibly impressive 7.47 match rating in the competition.
