Andy Robertson joined Robert Snodgrass and Kris Boyd on a recent edition of The Lockdown Tactics and during this podcast appearance, the Liverpool and Scotland left-back spent some time discussing the Reds’ intensity.

After winning the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League and finishing second in the 2018/19 Premier League – setting the record for accumulating the highest Premier League points total without winning the title that season, Liverpool have now secured the 2019/20 Premier League title and prior to the Reds’ clash with Arsenal on Wednesday evening, they have impressively won 30 of their 35 Premier League games this season, losing just twice

2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

It may be fair to say that this shows the Reds have delivered an impressive level of consistency this season and during his recent appearance on The Lockdown Tactics, Robertson spent some time discussing Liverpool’s intensity and the reasons why their standards are so high and why their levels of effort remain consistent.

Robertson said: “That’s one of the gaffer’s big sayings, he says – ‘whatever we do, we do 100%’ – whether that’s training, whether that’s games, whether that’s team meetings, whether it’s partying, he says 100% and everything that we do is together.

“We know if we drop off then he’ll be first to tell us, [Jordan] Henderson will be first to tell us, [James] Milner will be first to tell us, these lads are so crucial and so are the staff.

“That’s why we’ve got the right balance in terms of the squad we’ve got. Not one of us really slacks, not one of us – and even if you had a small thought about doing it, you would get told straight away off one of the lads.

“That’s why we keep our standards so high and we give 100% every time. You’re representing a lot of people when you put that shirt on and we respect that a lot and they want to see us give 100% in everything we do, and we do that.”

TIF Thoughts…

Judging by his comments, it appears as though Jurgen Klopp and some of the characters within Liverpool’s dressing room have created an environment where high levels of effort are consistently required and this may explain why the Reds have been so consistent this season, as is evident by the fact that, ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Arsenal, they could set a new Premier League points record if they win all three of their remaining league games.
