According to recent reports, Lazio have entered the race for Crystal Palace target Rafael Santos Borre.
The reports by Argentinian newspaper Olé (via Sport Witness) state that Lazio are prepared to make an offer of $15 million (£12 million) for the player, and while there have been no contract offers as yet from the Biancocelesti, the Serie A side are said to have ‘the best present’ for the River Plate striker.
The reports go on to state that Lazio’s interest could cause Palace – who have been linked with the forward for a ‘long time’ – to finally make a concrete offer for the Colombian international, although, as yet, there has been no sign of movement from the south London club.

With Palace scoring just 30 Premier League goals prior to Thursday’s fixture against Manchester United – a record which is only better than bottom-of-the-table Norwich City – it is evident that the Eagles need to bring in reinforcements to their frontline this summer.
The 24-year-old Borre, who came through the Atletico Madrid ranks, spent a season on loan at Villarreal – where he scored four goals and provided two assists over 30 appearances – before moving to River Plate in a £2.7 million deal in 2017.
Having scored 12 goals and provided two assists over his 20 Superliga fixtures this season, it would seem as if Borre could very much be a solution to Palace’s lacklustre attack.

In addition to this, the reported fee of $15 million (£12 million) that Lazio are offering for the player would seem to be an affordable fee for the south London club, and with the player currently valued at £9 million, it would also be one which represents decent value.
