Aston Villa journalist and presenter Cole Pettem has made a claim on some potential player departures from the Birmingham club this summer.
This comes after Pettem recently hosted an episode of Holtecast, a Villa-themed podcast to discuss the latest news surrounding the club.
On the topic of the summer transfer window, Pettem shared his thoughts on what changes could be made at the club during the window.
He said: “I wouldn’t be shocked to see certain Villa players leave within a matter of days, like they’re basically off as soon as the window happens. I wouldn’t be shocked if there’s already one or two players that are on the minds of the owners and management [to leave].”
Villa ended this season in 17th place in the Premier League table with 35 points, narrowly avoiding the drop to the Championship.
The Birmingham-based club currently have a squad made up of 27 players with a total market value of £192.83 million (per Transfermarkt).

With Villa having secured their place in the Premier League for next season and avoiding the drop to the Championship, it would be interesting to know how this will have changed any potential transfer plans the club may have had beforehand.
