Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has been sharing some insight into the relationship he has with Whites manager Marcelo Bielsa.

This comes after a clip of Bamford speaking to Darren Bent on TalkSPORT 2 earlier in the week was featured in a recent episode of the TalkSPORT Daily Podcast.

Nice easy one to start off with, from which club did Leeds sign Hernandez?

On the topic of Bielsa and how the Argentine does his job, Bamford had this to say on the matter.

He said: “It’s like a love/hate relationship in terms of the amount he pushes you and how hard he makes you work and sometimes you’re moaning and one part of you is like ‘I can’t do this’, but then you know that he’s pushing you to get the best out of you.”

Bielsa was appointed Leeds manager back in July 2018 and has since gone on to take charge of 100 games for Leeds, in which he has managed to rack up a points-per-game average of 1.85 (per Transfermarkt).

This season, Bamford made 45 appearances for Leeds in the Championship and managed to score 16 goals and provide two assists along the way, making him Leeds’ top scorer in this campaign.

How many goals do you think Bamford will score in the PL next season?

TIF Thoughts…

It’s good that Bamford knows that although Bielsa may be pushing him hard, he knows that it’s only because Bielsa knows that Bamford has it in him to improve and become a top player.

With Leeds having secured promotion to the Premier League for next season, Bielsa and everyone else at the club will surely be hoping that Bamford will be able to repeat the goalscoring form he’s had in the Championship this season for their top-flight campaign next year.
