Some Celtic fans have been talking about the latest tweet that the SPFL recently relayed on social media.

The SPFL’s tweet concerned the vote for the Premiership Team of the Season right-back. The tweet revealed the results of the poll that was conducted to decide who the right-back for the Team of the Season would be. It was revealed that Jeremie Frimpong won the poll by the highest number of votes – 56%.

Starting with an easy one: which Italian club did Nakamura join Celtic from?

The tweet also told fans to keep their eyes ‘peeled’ for the results involving the Team of the Season left-back and centre-backs.

But the results of the poll attracted the attention of many Celtic fans. It left them raving at Frimpong’s achievement.

Is Frimpong the best right-back in the Premiership?

Surely!

Surely!

This was Frimpong’s first season at Parkhead, as he had joined the club from Manchester City in the summer of 2019 (via Transfermarkt).

Despite this being his first season, Frimpong has made 22 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops. In the Premiership, the Dutchman has made 14 appearances and has already scored twice and has three assists to his name as well (via Transfermarkt).

Frimpong’s latest accolade though, left some more Celtic fans delighted. They too flocked to the SPFL’s tweet. One fan mocked James Tavernier’s inclusion.

The tweet revealed that while Frimpong had received the majority 56% of the votes, Tavernier had got only 28% of the votes and finished second. Liam Grimshaw finished third with just 3% of the votes, while Michael Smith finished last with 2% of the votes (via SPFL Twitter).

The number of votes that Frimpong received and the manner in which he’s come leaps and bounds in his first season at Parkhead suggests that the right-back has a bright future at Celtic.
