A report in El Dia has claimed that Juan Foyth is set to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer, and Marcelo Bielsa is very keen on bringing the Argentine to Leeds.

To kick things off what season is this from?

It is claimed that the 22-year-old has not convinced Jose Mourinho, and he will be allowed to leave the North London club.

Bielsa wants to bring him to Elland Road, but he will apparently face competition from Barcelona.

A report from CalcioMercato last month suggested that Spurs are looking for between €12-15m (£10.8m-£13.5m) for Foyth – a player they paid £8m for in 2017.

Mauricio Pochettino saw Foyth as a potential option at right-back this season, but an injury suffered in pre-season saw him miss seven games, and then Pochettino was sacked in November.

Would you be happy if Leeds signed Foyth?

Yes, Bielsa could transform him

No, makes too many errors

Since Mourinho arrived at Spurs, the Argentine has made just three appearances for Tottenham with Serge Aurier emerging as Mourinho’s number one choice for the right-back role.

Foyth can play as either a centre-back or a right-back, and with Ben White’s long-term future looking to be away from Elland Road, it is easy to see why Bielsa is interested in Foyth.

TIF Thoughts…

Foyth has made 32 appearances for Spurs since he arrived at the club, but he has made quite a few individual errors this season alone.

However, he is very comfortable on the ball and playing out from the back, and for between £10.8m-£13.5m, he could be a good signing for the Whites.

It will be interesting to see if they do make a move for him in the summer, though, if Barcelona are genuinely interested, it might be a bit of a struggle to convince Foyth to move to Elland Road.
