Many Celtic fans have been talking about Craig Gordon after updates about his situation recently emerged.

It was recently reported that Hearts are in talks to sign Gordon and that the club has offered him a two-year deal. While Celtic have also offered a contract to the goalkeeper, they have offered much-reduced terms. It has also been reported that while St. Mirren have also spoken to Gordon, the former Sunderland goalkeeper is looking for regular football currently (via BBC Sport).

Starting with an easy one- apart from Paris Saint-Germain, which other French club did Edouard play for?

In a recent interview with TalkSport (via Daily Record) though, Gordon criticised the offer that Celtic made for him. The goalkeeper said that the Hoops could have held the talks in an ‘awful lot better’ manner. The former Sunderland man also hailed Hearts to be a ‘huge club’, regardless of which division they are in.

The Daily Record relayed a tweet about this on social media. Some Celtic fans made their opinion known about Gordon’s situation.

Will Celtic have the money to sign Forster?

No, we don't have the money

Yes, we'll sign him

It has also been reported by the Scottish Sun that Celtic are currently ‘working’ on a deal to keep Fraser Forster at Parkhead. So while the interest in the goalkeeper might be genuine, Chelsea are also reported to be interested in signing the Englishman this summer.

But some other Celtic fans began talking about Gordon’s situation at Parkhead too.

Gordon had joined Celtic in the summer of 2014 after he had taken a career break of two years. He has previously played for Sunderland and Hearts as well (via Transfermarkt).

In the 2019/20 season, Gordon played only six games in all competitions. He didn’t play a single Premiership game, but did feature in three Europa League games (via Transfermarkt). So clearly, he wasn’t an important player for the club.

With the player now 37, he might want to spend the last few years of his career while playing regular football. So seeking a move away from Celtic Park makes a lot of sense for him. Because of that, the Hoops are right to pursue a move for Forster.
