Celtic boss Neil Lennon has previously been clear in an interview about his intentions to keep loanees Forster and Mohamed Elyounoussi at Parkhead. He had said that those are issues that Celtic need to talk about with Southampton and with the players on an individual basis (via Daily Record).

While the fans above were happy, some Celtic fans said that they want the goalkeeper to be signed on a permanent basis.

Forster has been a crucial player for the Hoops this season, having made 39 appearances in all competitions for the club. He also made 28 Premiership appearances and kept 14 clean sheets in the top flight – with 17 shutouts in total (via Transfermarkt).

The goalkeeper saved a penalty in the League Cup final against Rangers and did the same in the Europa League last-32 first-leg match against Copenhagen. That shows how important a player Forster is for the Bhoys and explains why some Celtic fans are happy about this news.

They can only hope that the news is true and Forster stays at Parkhead for another season.
