Some Celtic fans have been talking about the latest news update involving Fraser Forster that emerged on social media recently.

TodoFichajes has recently reported about Chelsea’s interest in Forster. The outlet claims that the Blues indeed are after the goalkeeper, who spent the 2018/19 campaign on loan at Parkhead.

Starting with an easy one- apart from Paris Saint-Germain, which other French club did Edouard play for?

They say that Chelsea are looking to get their ‘homework’ done in the summer transfer window and have made contact with Southampton to sign Forster as well. It is said that the London club want to sign a goalkeeper this summer, with relations between Frank Lampard and Kepa having broken down and Willy Caballero expected to leave.

This news update involving the 32-year-old goalkeeper was relayed by the Daily Record recently. Many Celtic fans flocked to this post on Twitter and they expressed their disbelief about this.

Do you think Chelsea can sign Forster?

While Chelsea have been linked with Forster, the Hoops are also reported to be working on a deal to sign the former Newcastle United man. The Daily Mail (via Daily Record) had also claimed that the Bhoys are currently ‘hopeful’ of keeping Forster at Parkhead for another season.

But the news about Chelsea didn’t deter another Celtic fan from believing that their club would sign the goalkeeper this summer.

Another fan stated that the club should sign Forster and Mohamed Elyounoussi on a permanent basis soon.

Forster had joined the Hoops on loan from Southampton in the summer of 2019 and he was a regular feature in the club’s first team. He made 39 appearances in all competitions, including 28 Premiership games. In the league, Forster kept 14 clean sheets (via Transfermarkt).

That proves how important Forster is for Celtic. With the club now looking to win their 10th Premiership title in a row next season, an experienced campaigner like Forster could be crucial to helping them to that feat. So despite everything, signing him this summer makes a lot of sense.
